Students new to the district-- I believe that you can’t join Google Classroom until you are fully enrolled in Mead.  If you can’t get in the Google Classroom,  just email me your letter and your signed cover letter.  Again my email is dori.whitford@Mead354.org

HONORS ENGLISH INFO THAT YOU WILL NEED OVER THE SUMMER:

Honors 9 English Summer Project THIS IS THE INFO ON THE SUMMER PROJECT.  READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY-- CHANCES ARE THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS ARE IN THIS PAGE!  YOU MIGHT WANT TO READ IT MORE THAN ONCE THIS SUMMER!  AND READ IT ONE LAST TIME BEFORE YOU TURN IN YOUR PROJECT ON TUES. AUG 17 SO THAT YOU ARE SURE YOU HAVE DONE ALL THAT IS REQUIRED.

You may either put this in our Google Classroom if you did everything as an electronic document, or you may turn it in to the Mead High School office.  Please either put everything in Google Classroom or bring everything to the office.  If you deliver it to the office, the office is closed from 12-1 for lunch!

Summer Project Ideas THESE ARE PROJECTS THAT STUDENTS HAVE DONE IN THE PAST.  THESE ARE JUST IDEAS THAT MIGHT HELP YOU THINK OF YOUR OWN PROJECT!  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ONE OF THESE!  THINK OF YOUR OWN!

Honors English Placement Recommendations   LOOK AT THE RECOMMENDED CRITERIA ON THIS FORM,  AND THEN DISCUSS WITH YOUR PARENTS IF THIS CLASS IS A GOOD CHOICE FOR YOU.

iMPORTANT DATES PAGE PRINT THIS OUT AND POST IT SO YOU GET THINGS DONE WHEN THEY ARE DUE!  (And notice the extra credit option on there!).

PARTIAL LIST OF BOOKS YOU WILL BE READING IN FOUR YEARS AT MEAD THESE ARE BOOKS YOU MAY READ IN YOUR TIME AT MEAD HIGH SCHOOL. SO IT WOULD BE WISE STAY AWAY FROM THESE WHEN YOU PICK YOUR TWO BOOKS FOR SUMMER READING.

SAMPLE JOURNAL This is an example of a well-organized journal from a student a few years ago.  It might help you to organize yours if you look at this sample.  At the point this journal was done I did not require a separate section for why they chose the projects or a reflection section after they were done.   In this sample I also did not require a parent’s signature.  I have added those requirements! Be sure to read the summer project info carefully!.  I need to get a new sample from one of you who have a good journal this fall!  Please make sure you do everything that is asked for on the summer project info page.  (I guess this is a bit of a test to see how carefully you read!)
